I'm Veronika Dorson, an open-source UI/UX designer. I work in the Bitcoin and ecash ecosystem, mostly on protocols moving towards becoming products that real people can actually use. I like the challenge of designing something when there's no existing version to reference.
( Why I'm here )
Bitcoin has a design problem. The technology works. The ideas are sound. But most of the tools people interact with feel like they were built for people who already understand everything. I've spent the past two-plus years trying to close that gap, designing wallets, tools, and interfaces in the Bitcoin and ecash ecosystem.
I founded HODL, Hands on Design Lab, because the gap won't close with just one designer. It's a program where I help designers understand money and Bitcoin so they can enter this space and do real work, not just push pixels on top of protocols they don't understand. I also build educational Bitcoin games for the same reason. Working on two right now.
The projects I take on are the ones where the design problem is also a comprehension problem. Where someone built something that works but nobody can figure out how to use it. That's where I do my best work.
